Dennis is a Chartered Maritime Civil Engineer with nearly 30 years’ industry experience, specialising in ports and harbours. He is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a fully-qualified commercial diver. Dennis is a founding Director.

Dennis is a Founding Director of Waves Group and is focussed on the development and growth of the network of offices worldwide. He has a background in ports and harbours with his experienced gained through international engineering consultants in the provision of port feasibility studies, detailed design, preparation of tender documents, administration of construction contracts and condition surveys. This also included a number of overseas postings.
Over the past 30 years, he become a recognised expert in Fixed & Floating Object (FFO) damage incidents, which has taken in over 60 countries. He provides high-level technical and financial advice to P&I Clubs, shipping companies, brokers, loss adjusters, terminal operators and other insurance interests. He has a wealth of experience in the investigation and management of FFO cases and fosters excellent working relationship with correspondents and local surveyors when supporting clients, which has included on site commercial settlement negotiations.
With his Commercial Diving qualifications, he provides all round management of infrastructure inspections and assessments. He has experience of the monitoring of underwater operations for the removal of damaged structures, the inspection of reef damages following vessel groundings and the supervision of reef restoration projects.
Dennis has prepared expert witness reports for arbitration and appeared as a witness of fact for cases involving defective port facilities, pre-existing damage and unsafe berths.
