Allan is a registered professional Naval Architect, Marine Engineer and Civil-Structural Engineer with over 37 years industry experience. He has extensive experience in the investigation of maritime casualties and fixed and floating object (FFO) damage incidents.

He has been involved in the design and construction management of major projects worldwide particularly in the Americas, involving ship building / repairs / modifications, up and downstream oil and gas and port and harbour planning, design, and construction. He is also fluent in English and Spanish.
Allan has worked as a ship superintendent, project manager, naval architect and QA structural welding lead on many ship and floating structure newbuilds, modifications and repair projects. He has also worked as a marine structural discipline and field construction lead on teams involved in new and expansion marine facility and harbour projects globally.
He has attended on-site on numerous salvage and wreck removal operations in blue and brown water locations to both document activities for insurers offering naval architecture, civil and structural engineer support to contracted salvors.
He also has been recognized has an expert witness in US Federal Courts of New Orleans, LA and Houston, TX for without prejudice damage quantum surveys, and forensic collision and allision reconstruction surveys and analyses.
Allan has also provided Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) review and attendance services in a wide range of operations including slid, lifted and trailered loadouts and offloads of heavy cargo to and from project cargo ships and barges, and for many heavy structures, weighing up to 40,000 tonnes, from fabrication yard to their offshore installation site.
