Rob Williams
Associate Director :: Maritime Civil Engineer
Rob is a Chartered Maritime Civil Engineer with over 27 years’ experience specialising in the planning, design, procurement and construction of a wide variety of maritime port infrastructure projects. He is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE CEng) and a member of the Society for the Environment (CENV).

Rob is experienced in the provision of maritime civil engineering consultancy services to the P&I Clubs, vessel owners, brokers, insurance companies, lawyers and other members of the maritime shipping community. His principal activities involve attendance on-site following an incident to inspect and technically assess the extent of damages to marine structures and mechanical handling equipment.
Rob’s experience covers many aspects of maritime project and incident management including, client interaction and relationship development, feasibility studies, port master planning and option identification, budget cost estimates, outline and detailed design, contract documentation preparation, project procurement, tender assessment and negotiation.
He also has extensive experience in the construction, supervision and management of maritime civil engineering works, which includes dredging, reclamation and ground improvement, breakwaters, a wide range of quay structures, berthing and mooring dolphins, monopiles, fenders and mooring systems. Rob has applied this experience to the planning, development and repair/remedial works to container terminals, Ro-Ro and bulk handling terminals, ports and harbour facilities worldwide.
Rob is also a member of PIANC Working Group 211, involved with the preparation of the update on the Guidelines for the Design of Fender Systems (update to WG33).
