Richard is a Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience of offshore engineering, including experience as a designer, consultant and cable engineer for a wide range of projects including telecoms, renewables, and power subsea cables.

Richard is familiar with the management and execution of feasibility, design, construction, installation and decommissioning activities as well as providing expert advice for legal investigations.
He has worked as an engineer on numerous subsea cable projects for all areas of the world, including the North Sea, Asia and the East Coast of Africa. Richard has also been technical lead on many subsea cable projects, including route and cable engineering, risk management & mitigation, and maintenance strategy. He is dedicated to cost effective through life maintenance and repairs and understanding the root cause of failures so that lessons learned can be incorporated into new system specification and design.
He also has extensive experience of new system design, working on shore-end’s, shallow and deep waters within complex dynamic marine environments with high tidal flow and seabed mobility. Richard was technical lead on a number of high-profile subsea cable projects including significant national and international infrastructure. Richard led the work into co-location and proximity of offshore wind with subsea cables, working with government, developers and industry.
Richard is a Subsea Cable Specialist and is focussed on developing relationships with clients and within the industry, and is responsible for growing the long-term relationships and profile of wave-groups with subsea cable clients.
