Located in the North Sea, west of Nissum Fjord and approximately 22 kilometres from Thorsminde on the west coast of Jutland, the Thor project boasts a capacity of more than 1GW and is Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm to date. It will feature 72 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-236 DD wind turbines, installed on monopiles, with the majority of turbines equipped with recyclable rotor blades and towers of lower carbon steel. Once fully operational in 2027, Thor will generate green electricity for over 1 million Danish households, significantly contributing to Denmark’s renewable energy production and supporting the European Green Deal’s carbon reduction goals.

We are thrilled to collaborate with RWE on this monumental project, reinforcing our position as a leading Marine Warranty Surveyor in the offshore wind industry. With over 15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, Waves Group has provided MWS services to over 160 offshore windfarm projects across the UK, Europe, and Asia.
