Waves Group to Support Nordseecluster Offshore Wind Farm Development
We are excited to announce our role in the development of the Nordseecluster offshore wind farm, one of Germany’s largest renewable energy projects. The wind farm, with a total capacity of up to 1.6 GW, will significantly contribute to the country’s green energy transition.
Waves Group has been appointed as the Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) for the project, where we will oversee the installation of foundations, wind turbine generators (WTGs), Offshore Substations (OSS), and array cables. Our involvement underscores our commitment to delivering reliable, safe and efficient offshore operations.
The Nordseecluster, owned and developed by RWE, will be constructed in two phases—Nordseecluster A (NC 1 and NC 2) and Nordseecluster B (NC 3 and NC 4). For Nordseecluster A construction at sea is scheduled to begin in 2025, with commercial operations expected to commence at the start of 2027. Nordseecluster B is scheduled to start commercial operation from the beginning of 2029.
Located approximately 50 km north of Juist in the German Bight, North Sea, the project will feature 104 wind turbines, capable of generating enough green electricity to power approximately 1.6 million homes.
