He is a Chartered Professional Engineer (Structural Engineering) who provides advice to Protection and Indemnity Clubs (P&I Clubs) on fixed and floating object (FFO) damage cases, insurance related technical expertise to regional insurers and reinsurers, and maritime civil engineering expert opinion services, including written and verbal evidence in court and arbitration cases.
His experience includes 13 years working as a consulting engineer, primarily working within EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Project Management) teams covering the full range of project stages, including early feasibility studies, detailed design, construction management and project close out. This project experience covers marine terminals including reclamation works, wharves and jetties, dolphins and fendering, and bridges and material handling structures and equipment.
Based in Singapore since 2015, Brian has extensive experience working on infrastructure damage claims and FFO cases within the South-East Asia region, often involving travel to remote ports and terminals. Brian regularly attends on site immediately after an incident to assess the damage, advise on temporary repairs, monitor operations and assist in the resolutions of claims. He has worked in Australia, Brunei, China, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, The Maldives, Thailand, Taiwan, UAE, and Vietnam,
