Gavin is a Chartered Maritime Civil Engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the design, procurement and construction of a wide variety of port and marine infrastructure. He has previously held roles up to Technical Director in engineering consultancies and has extensive experience of site work.

Gavin is experienced in the provision of maritime civil engineering consultancy services to P&I Clubs, insurance companies, lawyers and other members of the maritime engineering community.
Gavin’s experience spans the full range of professional activity from site inspections and investigations, port planning, concept and feasibility studies and the preliminary and detailed design of port and terminal developments.
He has also provided expert opinion in large arbitration proceedings, including preparation of an expert witness report, joint experts’ report and provided verbal evidence during arbitration hearings.
Gavin has been responsible for lead roles in container terminal developments, oil and gas marine facilities, dock and lock gates, small harbour works, bulk handling terminals, accident investigation and repair/remedial works.
He has considerable experience of drafting performance and technical specifications, tender documentation, tender assessments and is experienced in monitoring construction operations, contract supervision and project management.
